British cocktail lovers haven’t let a bit of lockdown stop them from enjoying DIY mixology at home. And with living room happy hours still alive and kicking, we turn to the drinks masters at Patrón tequila to learn how to whip up delicious homemade cocktails in just a few clicks...
Are you a fan of tequila?
Tequila – once seen as a party shot to gulp straight back with some salt and lime – has enjoyed a renaissance in recent years, fast becoming one of the world’s coolest spirits. In the UK, John Lewis and Waitrose have seen an incredible 175 per cent rise in tequila sales since lockdown started on 23 March. Meanwhile, the team at Bacardi has discovered that almost 60 per cent of London residents surveyed believe that a home cocktail hour has become a certified ‘thing’. And the same survey revealed that the tequila-based Margarita was the third most popular drink to make at home. So it’s fair to say that tequila is most definitely having a moment.
