Discover the benefits for American Express Cardmembers of introducing friends and family to the British Airways American Express Premium Plus Card
1. You could reap the rewards
Introducing your friends or family to the British Airways American Express Premium Plus Card is a win-win situation. Not only will you earn 9,0001 Avios for each person approved (up to the maximum of 45,000) but, in return, each of your referrals can earn an extra 26,000 bonus Avios (until 11 February 2016) if they spend £3,000 in their first three months of Cardmembership.2 That’s enough for two return flights from London to one of over 30 destinations in Europe, including Berlin and Milan. Terms, taxes, fees and charges apply.
This offer should only be sent to people with whom you have an existing relationship, such as friends or family, and who consent to receiving this type of message. It is not available to anyone who holds or has held any Avios enrolled Amex Cards in the last six months.
2. Be rewarded for shopping, dining and travelling
All approved Cardmembers will enjoy the same Avios rewards that you do: get 1.5 Avios for virtually every £1 you spend, and three Avios rewards for every eligible £1 spent directly with British Airways on flights or holidays. This means that you can turn your everyday spending into travel rewards3.
3. Travel with a friend
On becoming a British Airways American Express Card Premium Plus Card member, anyone who spends £10,000 or more within a Card anniversary year will qualify for a British Airways American Express Companion Voucher (a second seat for the same flight and cabin on a BA mainline flight5). That means Avios savings can be shared with loved ones, on anything from a romantic beach stay to a once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
4. Enjoy peace of mind abroad
Feel secure while you're away with Global Assist 24/7 assistance in your own language, travel inconvenience insurance covering flight cancellations, delays and delayed baggage when flights are purchased on your Card. You will also receive Refund Protection and Payment Protection on eligible items that you buy with your Card within 90 days of purchase.
5. Staying ahead of the crowd
You can enjoy access to some of the hottest shows and events with American Express Invites. This gives all Cardmembers the chance to purchase tickets for a wide range of sought-after events, including music, theatre and film – often before tickets go on sale to the general public.
How does the card work?
Gill Souter, 43, is a solutions manager from Hove, Sussex. She heard about the travel benefits of the British Airways American Express Premium Plus Credit Card from her colleagues at work, and asked one of them to recommend her earlier this year
“My colleagues talked non-stop about the benefits of the British Airways Express Premium Plus Card in the office. They were using their cards to pay for all their work expenses and were being rewarded with Avios points in return.
“I loved the idea that I could be rewarded for my spending, so I approached one of my colleagues and asked him to refer me to American Express. It was a win-win situation because he got bonus Avios points and I got all the benefits of being an American Express Cardmember.
“Ten months later, I am a total convert. I tell everyone and anyone that will listen to get a British Airways Express Premium Plus Card. I use my card to pay for everything I can, from groceries and travel to petrol and nights out. I’ve even transferred my Tesco Clubcard vouchers into Avios points.
“I am fully committed to earning enough Avios points so that next year I can treat a friend to a long haul BA business class flight, using an American Express Companion Voucher.”
Gill goes onto say that she is “always on the look-out” for ways to earn Avios points in her day-to-day. “Where they don’t take American Express, I use PayPal, but I’ve made sure that I still get the Avios points by funding my PayPal account through my American Express card. There is nothing getting between me and that trip!”
