True to its moniker Sin City, Las Vegas is a playground for entertainment lovers, with cool nightclubs, celebrity chef restaurants and plenty of sizzling shows, often housed under one roof in the city’s hottest hotels. And with 13 hotels on the Strip, MGM Resorts has something to suit every kind of traveller. Here are The Club’s premium picks
Best for… escapists
A part of Aria Resort and Casino and set in the heart of the Vegas’ Strip, Aria Sky Suites are a lofty retreat from the hubbub of the city. Guests booking Sky Suites get access to an exclusive pool, while the rooms boast jaw-dropping skyline views. To add to the VIP treatment, you’ll also enjoy complimentary airport transfers, a private check-in area and exclusive elevator access. No wonder it’s received an impressive collection of awards and accolades over the last few years, including Forbes Travel Guide 2015 Five Star Award.
The showstopper With restaurants by James Beard Award-winning Shawn McClain (Sage) and Michael Mina (Bardot Brasserie, a brunch must), this is not the place to be on a diet. But forget waiting in line for a table – Sky Suite guests receive a ‘line pass’, which allows them to jump the queues.
Best for… thrills and chills
There’s more to this hotel than its world-famous dancing fountains (as featured in a scene of Oceans 11). For starters, there’s a choice of five outdoor pools to pick from for your daytime cabana lounging. It’s also home to Cirque du Soleil’s aquatic acrobatic spectacle O, which is guaranteed to generate plenty of ‘ooh’s and ‘aah’s from all the family. Night owls will love The Bank, an exclusive nightclub complete with a glass-encased dance floor, VIP booths and mood lighting. Wash off the morning-after-the-night-before feeling by making a beeline for the impressive Bellagio Buffet the next day, followed by a soothing massage at the hotel’s 55,000ft spa. Or you might prefer some retail therapy on Via Bellagio, home to Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada boutiques.
The showstopper Book the Salone Suite or Bellagio Suite for a range of VIP services, including limousine airport transfers and daily in-room foodie treats.
Best for… the suite life
The more exclusive companion to the gleaming golden obelisk that is Mandalay Bay, the South Beach Miami-inspired Delano offers boutique, suite-only accommodation. The sweetest of suites is the cavernous Scenic Suite, which, as the name suggests, boasts incredible 180-degree Strip and desert views from floor-to-ceiling windows. If you can tear yourself away, there’s plenty on offer to keep you occupied, from a submerged chessboard in the hotel’s pool to rotating art installations in the Delano Art Series. Guests also get full access to the facilities at Mandalay Bay, which include a shark reef aquarium and the famous Daylight Beach Club.
The showstopper Dedicated foodies will love the farm-to-fork cuisine at Della’s Kitchen, which sources produce from Nevada and even has its own on-site greenhouse. Don’t miss the delectable Delano burger: grass-fed beef, aged cheddar, house-smoked pork belly, herb aioli and lettuce, tomato and onion stacked in a bun.
