A classic reimagined

Discover the new Single Grain Scotch Whisky from Haig

When a seasoned whisky writer tells you to ‘forget everything you thought you knew about Scotch’, there’s a tendency to sit up and listen.

You’d be right to pay attention. Haig Club is a new Single Grain Scotch Whisky, designed to be different. From its unique crafting and heritage, to the azure blue bottle and its lack of label, this is whisky – but not as you know it.

Haig Club over ice

Haig Club has been developed in partnership with British entrepreneur Simon Fuller, and global icon David Beckham. Crafted at Scotland’s oldest grain distillery – Cameronbridge – this new whisky is as much built on tradition and heritage as it is a Scotch Whisky designed for the modern world.

The House of Haig can trace its whisky producing roots as far back as the 17th century: making the Haig family the oldest grain whisky dynasty in Scotland. Today, Master Distiller and Blender Chris Clark has created Haig Club by combining whisky from three cask types: Refill casks, which had previously held a filling of Scotch Whisky, fresh ex-Bourbon American Oak casks and casks which have been rejuvenated.

A process of continuous distillation is used to create this Single Grain Scotch Whisky, as opposed to the Single Malt Whisky distillation style which uses separate batches. The resulting fresh, clean style of Haig Club perfectly showcases flavours of butterscotch and toffee for an ultra-smooth taste.

The sophisticated subtlety of Haig Club means that this whisky can be drunk either on its own or paired with food – continuing to break with traditional Scotch Whisky preconceptions.

And about that bottle… The design draws on a history of innovative bottles produced by the House of Haig, including the Haig Dimple bottle which is recognisable the world over. The new bottle colour also pays homage to the tradition of master distiller whisky tasting, which is conducted in blue nosing glasses, so the spirit can be reviewed on aroma and taste alone.

Haig Club also tastes great in cocktails. This simple recipe brings out the fruitiness and gentle spice of the whisky. Welcome to a new world of Scotch Whisky. Welcome to Haig Club.
