12 tricks to collecting Avios at home

Did you know there are numerous ways to collect Avios that don’t involve leaving your sofa? You can collect Avios with more than 1,100 retailers, from high-street fashion brands and florists to DIY stores and insurance companies. Here, Camilla Swift shares her top tips for totting up your Avios – from the comfort of your home

Order a take-away

Just Eat, Domino’s, Uber Eats, and Pizza Hut are just some of the popular food delivery companies available on the British Airways Avios eStore. Combine your cosy evening in with a takeaway from them, and your Avios balance will quickly see the benefit.

Shop at Sainsbury’s

British Airways has joined forces with Nectar to allow shoppers and travellers the ability to exchange points between the two loyalty schemes. This means Executive Club Members shopping at Nectar-partnered brands such as Sainsbury’s, Argos, eBay, Café Nero and Vue will be able to convert Nectar points into Avios (400 Nectar points converts to 250 Avios) and speed up the timeline towards their next Reward Flight with British Airways.

Ever fancied yourself as a hotel critic or restaurant reviewer? Now could be your time to shine. Why not fill in spare hours by completing online surveys? eRewards will give you 50 Avios for every survey you complete, as well as a bonus starter of 800 Avios.

Switch your hotel points to Avios

If you’re already a member of a hotel rewards scheme such as Hilton Honors or Radisson Rewards, did you know you can convert your hotel points into Avios? In a few simple steps, all your past stays can turn into your future flight.

Stock up your cellar

Is there ever a bad time to buy wine? Luckily for us, there are plenty of options that will reward you with Avios, as well as frequent special offers that give you more bubbly for your buck. British Airways’ partnership with Laithwaite’s, The Wine Flyer, gives you access to wines that will suit all budgets, while Masters of Malt will provide a welcome gift to whisky lovers everywhere.

Take out magazine subscriptions

In need of some new reading material? Thousands of magazines will reward you with Avios when you subscribe (as will the Magazines Direct subscription portal), delivering everything from weekly lifestyle titles to specific hobbies publications. If politics and current affairs are your thing, you could collect up to 18,000 Avios by subscribing to The Economist – meaning you can feed your brain and your Avios account at the same time.
