Cool down with homemade ice cream at Ici, the resort’s dedicated parlour, which touts tantalising flavours such as Sicilian pistachio or Madagascan vanilla.

Night life

Warm Mauritian nights are best enjoyed with a tipple in hand, especially one crafted at the G&T 100 Club, where mouth-watering, gin-based concoctions come in no short supply. Early in the evening, try out the hotel’s new wandering aperitivo bar, which serves up delicious tapas and signature cocktails. Beach Rouge is best for lazy dinners spent cradled by cushioned beachfront loungers, and is ideal for a late night digestif. The hotel’s al fresco cinema is a charming spot for a quiet night, where you can watch the latest blockbusters on bean bags under the stars.

Get your sports fix

Water sports fans can get their fill of aquatic adventures with offers of water skiing, paddle boarding and kite and windsurfing, while more sedate options include game-fishing or an afternoon jaunt on a catamaran or glass-bottom boat. You can keep fit too while exploring the surf by kayak or taking part in the hotel’s lively aqua gym programme. On land, get stuck into beach volley or a lazy game of petanque, while tennis lovers can perfect their serve on any of the resort’s four courts.
