British Airways and the other partners in the oneworld alliance have announced a new way for airlines to link in to its extensive global network. oneworld connect will enable customers to enjoy more services and benefits across a greater range of destinations. The first airline to join will be Fiji Airways, opening up more routes between London and the South Pacific. Customers will be able to travel between Singapore, Los Angeles or San Francisco and the Fijian gateway of Nadi, while earning Avios loyalty points. British Airways has launched a three-times-a-week service between London Gatwick and Toronto. The airline’s first flight to Canada from Gatwick, travellers on the route can enjoy new seats in the B777 World Traveller and World Traveller Plus cabins, which feature new Panasonic in-flight entertainment systems with larger HD screens. Avios Group (AGL) Limited recently announced that it will be closing the Avios UK Travel Rewards Programme. While Avios the currency remains, members who are not affiliated with another group airline loyalty programme will soon be welcomed to the British Airways Executive club. New members can now look forward to collecting Avios in more ways, accessing the oneworld alliance and making the most of tier benefits, including lounge access and increased luggage allowance. British Airways customers will benefit from quicker security queues in US airports now the airline has signed up to the TSA PreCheck programme. Once customers are accepted under the US government scheme, they can use dedicated TSA PreCheck Lanes, and do not need to remove shoes, light jackets or belts.
