Introducing power nap pods at the First ‘Forty Winks’ Lounge
British Airways is pulling out a few extra stops to give its top-tier passengers a dreamy start to their trip by unveiling a new addition to its ‘Forty Winks’ Lounge: the power nap sleep pod.
Introduced in partnership with Restworks, the new EnergyPods (pictured above) have been designed exclusively to give customers some much-needed, pre-flight shuteye. Currently available in British Airways’ First Lounge at London Heathrow, the pods will soon be available to use in its Concorde Room at London Heathrow Terminal 5 and New York’s JFK Terminal 7 when global travel restrictions ease and the lounges reopen.
British Airways is global airline partner for this year’s Lions Tour
The British & Irish Lions and SA Rugby have announced British Airways as the global airline partner of the 2021 Castle Lager Lions Series. British Airways flew the 37-man Lions squad to South Africa on Sunday 27 June to kick off the eagerly awaited Lions Tour. The Lions’ arrival in Johannesburg sees the best players from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales embarking on an eight-game tour of South Africa, including three tests against World Champions, the Springboks. Travel made simpler with mobile health passport
British Airways is the first airline in the UK to trial VeriFLY – a mobile travel health passport that allows customers to certify Covid-19 test certificates and entry requirements of their destination before they travel.
The trial of the app (pictured top of page) began in February on British Airways’ transatlantic routes between London and the US and, following its success, later expanded to include all inbound international flights from the UK. Designed to offer peace of mind, passengers who download the VeriFLY app to their mobile device can upload their Covid-19 test results and any required travel documentation before arriving at the airport. Use of the app is optional, and travellers are still able to bring their documents to check-in as normal. To find out more, click here
