Seven of the best British brands on the eStore

What better way to support the British economy than with a good old-fashioned shopping spree? Show some love to the local businesses in your community by day, and by night delve into a world of online shopping via The British Airways Avios eStore, where these seven British stalwarts from the worlds of food, drink, fashion and interiors offer a treat and a boost to your Avios

BrewDog

Recognising the public thirst for awesome, unstuffy craft beers, BrewDog’s rebellious Scottish founders crowdfunded their initial operation a decade ago and the rest, you might say, was in the can. Its Punk IPA is the beer that started it all, but there are hundreds of other crazily good brews to choose from today (as well as, whisper it, some really decent ciders).
We love: Hazy Jane New England IPA (BrewDog; 9 Avios/£1) brings a fruity hit to a dry-hopped brew of oats and wheat for £5.95 for four 330ml cans.

Young British Designers

Based in Warwickshire, Young British Designers was set up in 2010 by Debra Hepburn and her husband Julian Whitehead, who wanted to curate a showcase for emerging young designers and small fashion labels. The website is a breath-taking treasure trove of talent. Success stories include Rejina Pyo, Eudon Choi, JW Anderson and Sophie Hulme, while just some of the names to watch right now are COR, Harriet Eccleston, Cawley and LF Markey.
We love: Bella Singleton’s Maxima patchwork blue shirt dress, £335 (Young British Designers; 6 Avios/£1), is made in Norfolk from silk twill by a brand that started out as a scarf label.

The Conran Shop

The achingly cool Conran Shop has been informing our homestyle choices since 1973, when it first opened in the Michelin building on London’s Fulham Road. Built on the principles of considered design, functionality, and innovation, its intoxicating, hand-picked gifts, furniture, lighting and home accessories range from iconic pieces by design doyens, such as Eero Saarinen’s Tulip Chair, to future classics by emerging talents (check out the Inlay wireless charger).
We love: This sturdy striped Deck Chair, £120 (The Conran Shop; 5 Avios/£1), is quintessentially British. Upholstered in weatherproof fabric, it’s perfect for laid-back summer staycations.

Joe & Seph’s Gourmet Popcorn

What’s a movie night without popcorn? Created to satisfy gourmet snack attacks, Joe & Seph’s grew from a family experimenting at their kitchen table a decade ago into a world-beating purveyor of more than 50 flavours of award-winning popcorn (and ten caramel sauces), handmade by pastry chefs in London. Salted caramel is a sticky favourite, but chilli chocolate, mozzarella and tomato pizza, and espresso martini are among the sweet, savoury, fruity, nutty, boozy and vegan flavours out there.
We love: The Movie Night In Gift Box, £17.50 (Joe & Seph’s Gourmet Popcorn; 20 Avios/£1), packs six tasty varieties to set you up for everything from weepies to thrillers.

Victoria Beckham

Ever since it first graced the catwalks in 2008, the Victoria Beckham fashion label has been the go-to for ‘modern minimalism’, with sophisticated, tailored clothing that makes the wearer stand out without being showy. Beckham’s award-winning, intuitive design flair is also evident in joyful, distinctive accessories, such as strappy sandals, and make-up that replicates her signature smoky eyes and nude lips. No wonder that the brand is carried in more than 450 stores in 50 countries worldwide.
We love: This modern-retro pairing of ditsy floral overshirt, £285, and mustard bouclé trousers, £370 (Victoria Beckham; 8 Avios/£1).

The White Company

Simply put, everyone loves The White Company, whose lusciously scented candles, luxurious bedlinen and timeless, easy clothing have become integral ingredients of every sleek home and wardrobe. Founded by Chrissie Rucker OBE in 1993, the company has evolved from humble beginnings into one of the UK’s leading lifestyle brands, encompassing furniture, home accessories, lighting, fragrance, skincare, fashion and adorable ranges for babies and children. With an emphasis on craftsmanship and fine, durable materials, it’s the antithesis of fast fashion.
We love: This White Lavender Diffuser, £27 (The White Company; 3 Avios/£1), has the irresistible aroma of pure lavender, bright basil and Sicilian lemon that speaks of warm days on the Med.

Charlotte Tilbury

One of the world’s most legendary make-up artists, self-styled ‘mascara and high heel addict’ Charlotte Tilbury used her 20 years in the industry to launch her own beauty range in the UK in 2013. A trailblazer for modern glamour, her high-performance skincare, alluring eyeshadows, luscious lipsticks and specialised, supercharged kits are now in demand across the world. And, if you’re missing your in-store fix, you can even try on her make-up from your smartphone with Virtual Try On.
We love: Charlotte’s Magic Cream, £75 (Charlotte Tilbury; 8 Avios/£1), is an award-winning moisturiser that smooths away the stresses of the day.
