British Airways doubles the number of guaranteed reward flight seats for Executive Club Members and honours customer excellence, plus a new VeriFLY app helps travellers manage their next journey
Members to enjoy more reward seats than ever before
British Airways has doubled the number of guaranteed reward seats on every flight, meaning travellers can improve their chances of booking their chosen reward flight across the airline’s long- and short-haul routes. From 28 July, British Airways will guarantee four reward seats in Club World and Club Europe and eight in World Traveller and Euro Traveller. And, for the first time, two reward seats will be guaranteed in World Traveller Plus on long-haul flights. This additional availability can be booked from today for travel from 28 July onwards. British Airways Holidays’ Customer Excellence Awards recognise the best
Each year British Airways Holidays' top-reviewed hotel partners are presented with their Customer Excellence Award. This accolade is bestowed on hotels that receive a rating of at least nine out of ten from British Airways Holidays customers. British Airways Holidays has been recognising Customer Excellence since 2016 and this year, its fifth, is pleased to announce that its top four per cent of hotel partners (around 475 hotels) received this award in 2021 for the 2020 season. Catherine Onions, Head of Customer Service and Quality for British Airways Holidays, says "It’s fantastic so many of our hotels received a rating of nine out of ten and have been awarded for five consecutive years”. British Airways makes travel easier with the mobile health passport, VeriFLY
British Airways is the first airline in the UK to trial VeriFLY – a mobile travel health passport that allows customers to certify Covid-19 test certificates and entry requirements of their destination before they travel. The trial of the app began in February on British Airways’ transatlantic routes between London and the US and following its success, later expanded to include all inbound international flights from the UK. Designed to offer peace of mind, passengers who download the VeriFLY app to their mobile device can upload their Covid-19 test results and any required travel documentation before arriving at the airport. Use of the app is optional, and travellers are still able to bring their documents to check-in as normal. To find out more, click here
Avios Thank You Appeal hits 305 million points
Last year, Avios Group (IAG Loyalty) teamed up with British Airways to launch the Avios Thank You Appeal. The idea? To raise as many Avios as possible for frontline NHS workers in order to thank them for their amazing work during the Covid-19 pandemic. Millions of Executive Club Members joined the cause and donated, raising 305 million Avios to date – enough to thank more than 5,090 NHS workers with 60,000 Avios each, allowing them to treat themselves to a well-deserved getaway, a trip to the theatre with their loved ones, or a relaxing weekend break in a hotel. The second round of awarding got under way in April and finished up the distribution of the Avios Fund. To find out more about the appeal, click here
