Did you know that you can use Avios to part pay for regular British Airways flights? Sarah Thompson, British Airways’ campaign project manager, reveals how
As a Member of the Executive Club you may be aware that as well as booking reward flights or upgrades using your Avios you can also use Avios to part pay for regular British Airways flights to London.
With a minimum Avios balance of 7,500 you can save up to $75pp on a round-trip flight to London. But if you have a smaller balance you can benefit too as you start to make savings on flights with as little as 750 Avios, which would enable you to save $7.50pp off a one-way ticket or use 1,500 Avios to save $15pp on a round trip.*
It’s a great option for families and smaller groups of friends as savings are applicable for up to nine people travelling on the same booking. This means for example a family of four can save up to $300 on a round trip from New York to London.
Using Avios in this way means you also earn Avios and Tier Points on the flights booked – allowing you to start collecting Avios towards your next flight.
It is really simple to book using Avios part payment. When you are in the process of booking a flight, on ba.com, without a hotel or ancillary package, you will be offered part payment options on the price page.
