There are few better reasons to visit Las Vegas than its legendary nightlife, and where better to make an entrance than at The Venetian Resort Las Vegas and The Palazzo at the Venetian, its beating heart. Start a glamorous evening kicking back at glitzy cocktail bar Rosina where a ‘Champagne call button’ promises a world of fun. Then, for a taste of old-school Americana, head to The Dorsey to enjoy the hotel’s famous Penicillin cocktail – a must-try mix of Scotch, lemon and ginger hailed by The New York Times as an ‘essential drink’ of the modern cocktail revival. Finally, immerse yourself in the bustling celeb crowd at the magnetic Electra Cocktail Club, known for avant-garde cocktails and mesmerising digital installations.

A room of one’s own

Sprawled across 720 sq ft, suites at The Venetian Resort and The Palazzo are in a league of their own – they’re nearly twice the size of a typical Las Vegas hotel room and come decked out with regal European accents, marble bathrooms and hi-tech Roman curtains with touch technology. Décor is unexpectedly stylish, with modern interpretations of old Italian grandeur, including oversized roman tubs ideal for soaking in after a long night on the town. For a stay to remember, splash out on the Siena suite, which comes with an Italian marble foyer, a jetted tub and 130-square-foot marble bathroom.

Gourmand’s dream

With over 40 tempting restaurants, lack of choice at The Venetian Resort is no issue. After that farm-fresh feeling? Head to Yardbird Southern Table and Bar for delectable fried chicken and craft cocktails. For a special occasion, Bouchon won’t disappoint, an establishment that critic Anthony Bourdain called “...the best restaurant, ever”. Grab brunch on the sunlit patio or enjoy an afternoon of seafood and rosé at the oyster bar. If you’re more of a sharer, hit Sugarcane Raw Bar and Grill for an informal evening of small plates inspired by global cuisines, including bacon wrapped dates, Hokkaido scallop, and foie-gras fried rice.

Hit the jackpot

At the Venetian’s casino, state-of-the-art slot and video poker machines are matched only by luxury sports betting lounges, but if you fancy your chances at the table games, hit the Blackjack, Roulette and Three Card Poker for a night of thrills. Catch a gondola ride on the quarter-mile-long Grand Canal, drifting past shops and cafés, under balconies and classically-styled bridges and surrender to the charms of Old World Venice.

If you're keen to splash some cash, the Grand Canal Shoppes is home to 160 stores and dozens of high-end brands, including the world-famous Barneys New York. The Venetian's own shops also has an outstanding selection of labels, touting everything from swimwear and jewellery to handbags, world-class cosmetics and perfume. The Venezia Gift Shop is also a great spot to pick up gourmet snacks, premium wine and branded items for a souvenir to remember.
