British Airways celebrates England Rugby’s 150th anniversary, adds another year to the Executive Club Tier extension and announces a new partnership with Dettol

England Rugby marks its 150th anniversary
As proud sponsor and official Airline Partner to England Rugby, British Airways is joining supporters across the nation to commemorate the England team’s 150th anniversary. It marks 150 years since the first international match was held – on 27 March 1871 at Raeburn Place, Edinburgh – between England and Scotland.

To honour this momentous occasion, The Rugby Football Union (RFU) is celebrating its sesquicentennial with a whole host of special events and anniversary product launches throughout the year. These include a limited-edition heritage kit, paying homage to the original 1871 design, as well as a fully illustrated book, which recounts the story of how the England team grew from an amateur collection of schoolboys playing in a Home Nations Championship into the globally recognised team they are today.

Looking ahead to the future, the RFU is planning to celebrate its momentous milestone further with community clubs and with supporters at British Airways’ Principal Partner venue, Twickenham Stadium, when it is safe to do so. To find out more, and to see the full list of Guinness Six Nations fixtures, click here
