The Club’s latest After Hours event, exclusively for Executive Club Members, was a celebration of Peruvian cuisine. Here are the highlights from the event
Pisco sours, purple potatoes and the chance to win a pair of Club flights to Peru… The latest After Hours Club, ‘A taste of Peru’ at London’s Ceviche Old Street tempted many of you to join us for a South American celebration.
Fifty Executive Club members gathered at Martin Morales’s restaurant on 18 October to enjoy wine, chat, and a menu of sharing plates. Enticing dishes included seabass croquettes, grilled Ibérico pork and pan-seared duck magret, while wine for the event was provided by Rioja.
Morales, who was born in Peru, spoke passionately about his home country, while the Peruvian ambassador, Claudio de la Puente, expressed delight that the UK had embraced cuisine from South America. Both praised British Airways’ direct route to Lima, which launched last year.
A raffle, raising money for BA’s charity Flying Start, boasted fantastic prizes, including two copies of Martin’s cookbook and a £150 voucher to spend at luxury clothing company The Alpaca Clothing Co.
The grand prize was a pair of British Airways Club World return flights to Lima, Peru, plus two nights at The Westin Lima Hotel.
Every guest received a goody bag, which included Peruvian hot sauce from Encona, chocolate from Willie’s Cacao, a voucher for High Life Shop, and products from the Peruvian Tourist Board.
