New look cabins
Eighteen British Airways Boeing 747s have received a major makeover. Each jumbo now features a refreshed interior and hi-tech, in-flight entertainment system, as well as extra seats for customers flying in Club World. The revamped planes will operate on selected flights to New York JFK, Chicago, Johannesburg, Dubai, Boston, Riyadh, Kuwait, San Francisco, Seattle, Toronto and Washington DC. A new app developed by BA will allow customers to take a souvenir photo with a pilot in the cockpit before their flight. All 4,000 BA pilots will have the app on their iPads, with pictures sent automatically to passengers.

Better lounging
The American Airlines arrivals lounge at Heathrow Terminal 3 (pictured above) has now reopened, following a six-month renovation. The new facilities are available to customers travelling in First or Club World on a BA-operated flight, those travelling in First or Business class on an AA-operated flight, and Executive Club Gold Members arriving on a BA long-haul flight. Canadian state of mind
From 30 September 2016, customers visiting Canada will need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (eTA) if they are a visa-exempt foreign national travelling by air. Exceptions include US citizens and travellers with a valid visa. For more information, click here
