Are you a business owner? Luckily for you, the brand new British Airways American Express® Accelerating Business Card could give a boost to your bottom line and your leisure time. So, for those who’d like travel rewards thanks to their business spend, Business Life editor, Tim Hulse talks up the latest in business banking

Who could benefit from it?
If you’re a business owner and you and your employees are travelling the globe on business, the British Airways American Express Accelerating Business Card can bring a host of extra benefits. It combines the best of two great loyalty programmes –
On Business and the British Airways Executive Club. You'll receive an accelerated 1.5 Avios for every £1 spent on your Card, plus 1.5 On Business Points for every £1 spent with BA. That means both you and your company get rewarded.

Representative Example: This Card has a representative APR of 81.6% (variable) based on an assumed £1200 credit limit and £210 annual fee. The purchase rate is 22.9% (variable) per annum.

What’s On Business?
If you’re already a member of British Airways’ On Business programme, you can skip this bit. Think of On Business Points as a currency that helps your business save on flights. Whenever you or one of your colleagues travels on business with British Airways, American Airlines or Iberia, you get points that you can redeem for reward flights and cabin upgrades. One of the great advantages of the programme is that it lets you spend points up to one day before travel for anyone who works for your business, and make date and time changes to your reward flights.

What’s in it for you?
As a special welcome bonus, your company will receive 2,200 On Business Points when you spend £3,000 in your first three months of Cardmembership* – that’s enough for a return reward flight to Amsterdam, Zurich or Frankfurt (terms, taxes, fees and carrier charges apply). And if you spend £20,000 in a year, you’ll receive an annual bonus of 3,000 On Business Points. You can manage your employees’ T&E spend by getting up to 99 complimentary Supplementary Cards, and all Avios and On Business Points received from spend on these Cards will be awarded to you as the owner of the business.

And there’s more
New Cardmembers can take advantage of American Express’ financial management tools to monitor spend and maximise cashflow management, with up to 56 calendar days to pay, without interest (if you pay in full at month’s end), or the choice to pay over time with interest**. So why not start putting those supplier invoices onto your British Airways American Express® Accelerating Business Card to help consolidate all your expenses into one place, knowing you are also collecting Avios and bringing your next holiday that bit closer? That’s business and leisure benefits covered off on the same Card – it really is the best of both worlds.
