Introducing the new Singapore lounge

Singapore’s new look lounge opens this month with an exclusive Concorde Bar for First Class customers. Here’s how it will look

Customers passing through Singapore will now be able to enjoy a stylish new lounge facility.

Featuring the latest Galleries Design, British Airways’ new Executive lounge at Singapore will offer a place for customers to work, relax or dine across different zones. The airport will also be the first location to offer BA’s new Concorde Bar concept – an exclusive, private haven for First customers and their guests.

Situated in the same location as the previous lounge, there are now 185 seats in the main lounge – an increase of 67 – to reflect the increased popularity of the route. This is set to increase when the A380 service goes daily from December 2015. Power points will be available at most seats in the lounge and customers will have the ability to print wirelessly from their devices. High-speed wifi is complimentary.

The lounge includes contemporary fittings and furnishings from British designers, and all artworks on display have links to Singapore – from pieces created by up-and-coming Singaporean artists, to works with a Singaporean theme.

First Class customers will also have access to the 41-seater Concorde Bar. Here customers can enjoy communal bar seating as well as tucked away sofa corners and dining booths.

Its design is strikingly different in style from the main Galleries lounge, with black timber, marble and metal finishes, while feature lighting comes from brands including Tom Dixon, Foscarini, and Philippe Starck.

In addition to a complimentary bar and food service, customers will be able to enjoy moving panoramic views of the Singapore skyline and skies via digital window portals. The views on display change to reflect the time of day outside of the airport environment. This helps those travelling through different time zones to adjust within the airport environment.

The lounge upgrade is part of BA’s £5 billion investment in improving the customer journey. Other recent lounge refurbishments have been seen at Glasgow, Belfast, Edinburgh, Cape Town and Washington airports. The lounge at Dubai will be the next to undergo the Galleries treatment.
