Five worthwhile perks of the oneworld alliance

A huge range of rewards and privileges are available to British Airways Executive Club Members, thanks to the oneworld alliance. Here The Club reveals five of the best

1. Earn those Avios
Want to maximise your Avios collection, even if you’re not flying with BA? The oneworld alliance includes 14 airlines, and allows you to earn and burn Avios on every one of them. The alliance covers 150 countries worldwide, so no matter how ambitious your travel plans are, you can always make use of your Avios. See the oneworld global network list here

2. It’ll move you to tiers
Want to enjoy your hard-earned loyalty perks when travelling with a different oneworld alliance airline? You can. Your Executive Club tier status corresponds exactly with the oneworld tier status. Bronze equals Ruby; Silver is Sapphire; and Gold gives you Emerald status. That means you can enjoy many of your usual benefits whichever airline you travel with.

3. Priority in advance
Knowing where you’re going to sit on your next flight is important to many frequent flyers. And with a tier status of Ruby or higher, you receive priority access to seat selection. If you’re a Sapphire or Emerald member, you’re also entitled to one additional piece of baggage.

4. Lounging around
Sapphire and Emerald oneworld members can access more than 650 Business Class lounges throughout the world. Whether you need to catch up on work, or simply have somewhere to relax before your flight, the oneworld alliance ensures you can do it in comfort.

5. Front of the queue
If you have oneworld Emerald or Sapphire status, you are entitled to priority boarding on all oneworld alliance planes. With Emerald, you can also enjoy fast-track security at a huge selection of airports, with priority lanes allowing you a speedy and hassle-free journey to your gate.
