St Lucian luxury in an adults-only paradise

New on the St Lucia scene, Serenity at Coconut Bay is one restful resort that truly lives up to its name. An adults and suite-only luxury set-up designed to tempt romance-seeking travellers, you can retreat into Serenity’s world of sensational suites, dinner under the stars and personalised service at every turn

All-suite comfort

Fresh off the plane at St Lucia’s Hewanorra International Airport, and you’re but a breezy five-minute journey from Serenity at Coconut Bay. Occupying a scenic spot on a beachfront estate in the town of Vieux Fort, Serenity consists of 36 whitewashed suites, each kitted out with a private plunge pool (waterfalls included), decks and wet bars. The rooms – or rather ‘sanctuaries’ – are equally tranquil; neutral tones and ensuite bathrooms equipped with tubs and rainfall showers. Custom-made mahogany king beds feature discrete compartments for TVs, which can be raised or hidden as and when needed, and entertainment systems come courtesy of Bose.

Each suite at Serenity is assigned a butler, who can take care of pretty much anything – your packing or unpacking, pressing your clothes, even waking you up if your alarm clock just isn’t cutting it. Intuitive, respectful and discrete, you’ll find Serenity’s butlers are dedicated to personalising your resort experience. And although the resort has a VIP-worthy Serenity pool for all guests to enjoy, the temptation to linger at your suite's own private plunge pool may be heightened by the availability of poolside waiter service.

It’s easy to get hold of a tasty cocktail at Serenity, but make sure to go steady as, like meals, drinks are unlimited. Private patio bars remain gloriously stocked, breakfast can be served in bed, and culinary consultations with the resort’s guesthouse chef can be arranged. Since romance is the name of the game here, guests can dine privately in their own suite 24-hours a day if desired, whether craving a snack or a moonlit dinner alfresco. Alternatively, dishes whipped up from a harvest of local produce are served indoors or under the stars at the must-try Greathouse at Serenity restaurant.

Rest and recuperate

Those trusty butlers come into their own again where pampering is concerned, remaining happily on hand to draw luxuriant aromatherapy baths or arrange in-suite spa therapies. Hot candle massages designed to rejuvenate tired bodies and smoothie scrubs using Saint Lucian cocoa and sugar are just a couple of treatments guests can enjoy while knocking back a crisp glass of Champagne. Plus, Serenity’s professional therapies use only local ingredients and pure essential oils for an authentic mind, body and soul reboot.
