For the past 18 years, my partner and I have visited the magic capital of the world, Orlando. Without fail, we stay at the Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek. Not only does it have the best pool in the whole of Orlando (perfect for kids), but it has a kind of fun, chic style that we love. It’s also where we got engaged, so a really memorable place on so many levels.

Imagine pristine beaches, a city packed with art and culture, a corniche looking out at the high-rise sprawl of West Bay... Qatar is one of the most scenic and Instagrammable places I have ever been to. And it has the kindest locals. I visited in November with my family (it was a perfect 25°) and can recommend Banana Island (Qatar’s version of The Maldives) for watersports and the Souq Waqif for shopping. And the Four Seasons is the best place for an impeccable afternoon tea!

Believe it or not, Las Vegas. As a newly single parent, I took my daughters there when they were eight and ten as I’d been before and knew all the most magical spots. They became the princesses of the castle (Excalibur Hotel & Casino), went to Venice on a gondola (The Venetian Resort Las Vegas), saw dancing fountains (Bellagio), visited a circus, an outdoor pirate show, a shark reef aquarium, a pyramid and more. It really is a holiday for adults and children.

One of our all-time greatest family holidays is LUX* Belle Mare in Mauritius. We tend to go over February half term when we’re most in need of some Vitamin D, plus we fly there direct! The food and drink is divine (hello South African wine), and the beach is just beautiful. They have kid-friendly ice lollies made from fresh fruit and veg, so they can eat as many as they like. More importantly, there’s this ingenious bell on the sun-loungers to press for drinks, which comes in very handy when the children are off at the kids’ club. Bliss!

My favourite holiday would be a cruise across the Atlantic from New York to Southampton. We always fly British Airways from London Heathrow to JFK, as it’s the easiest airport for the Brooklyn Cruise terminal. My sons love the kids’ clubs on board, and I get to relax, with no cooking and no cleaning – just pure relaxation for seven days. We always hang around in New York for a few days before we leave, too. Tribeca is an underrated family spot!
